Witnesses claim the Lexus ran a red light leading up to the crash, with the MTA bus continuing to roll into, and ultimately come to a rest inside of an apartment building located at 500 W Franklin St. Of the 16 people hurt, authorities say no-one suffered life-threatening injuries.

Baltimore Police advised drivers to avoid the area immediately following the crash. Residents of the damaged building were allowed to reenter Saturday afternoon, following an evaluation by the Baltimore Fire Department Collapse Unit.
